Fanyelle Mael believes in providing care that is personalized to an individual's needs. I take an empathetic and supportive approach to treatment in order to help individuals work through their sense of self, relationships, substance use, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions/situations in order to feel empowered. By creating a safe, judgment free space, individuals are able to explore and work on overcoming difficulties in their lives. I often utilize techniques from many therapeutic interventions such as Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to work collaboratively with individuals to help to achieve growth oriented experiences.

Licensed in Mental Health Counseling and a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor, Fanyelle Mael received her clinical training from Queens College earning a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology/Dance with a minor in Counseling Services. Fanyelle is licensed in New York, Nevada and Connecticut.

Fanyelle completed her clinical experience with Montefiore Medical Center in an outpatient opioid treatment program located in Bronx, N.Y. providing medication assisted treatment for addiction. Fanyelle conducts assessments & makes recommendations concerning the treatment, follow-up and continuing care of her clients. Fanyelle is a certified provider for OASAS in conducting Impaired Driving Assessments and Evaluations. Fanyelle has been practicing privately for 6+ years where she has helped couples, parents, and children adjust to life changes and transitions. Fanyelle has worked in collaboration with school counselors and teachers to help facilitate better atmospheres for children/young adults to thrive in. Fanyelle’s dedication goes beyond her 45-60 minute sessions. She makes herself available to her clients on an ongoing basis, and in times of emergencies.
